For its inaugural exhibition, L’ÉCOLE China, School of Jewelry Arts, is proud to present one of the most established forms of jewelry arts from a different perspective: that of men’s rings. This exclusive show features an unprecedented collection which, standing today as a testament to an extraordinary quest, embodies a man’s 40-year passion: the late French connoisseur Yves Gastou.

The emblematic collection features nearly 400 exceptional rings, the exhibition path is centered on five themes to allow an immersive exploration of the collector’s personal preoccupations, namely History, Gothic, Christian Mystique, Vanitas, and Eclecticism.

Yves Gastou’s fascination with rings originated in his childhood and remained until his last days. Over the years he had carefully selected an eclectic collection of over a thousand rings, some precious, some mass produced, with a vast geographical and temporal span. With their intense beauty, these rings have myriad functions, from wedding oath to mystical amulet, and from symbol of power to statement of defiance.
